Cape Reinga

The furtherest point on the North Island
Where the Maori spirits leave
The Reinga Lighthouse sets on the northern tip of New Zealand.  It is an area that is sacred to the Maori  people.  They believe that when their people die, their spirits come to this area and remain around a special Pukata tree that has never bloomed,  before they go to their eternal rest.  The Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet here. (Notice the ripples and color difference in the picture.). We were also told the two oceans,  one smooth and one rough, are like the two sexes.  So which sex is rough, and which is smooth?
