On our way back from Kerikeri, our Toyota Highlander made a sharp right at a sign that said $2. for a bag of fruit. We put our $2 coin in the can and picked up a bag of tangelos. The rows of fruit trees were directly behind the stand, so with camera in hand, we asked if we could take a picture. The owners, Christine and Graham took our pictures, handed us oranges, mandarins, ugly fruit, avocados, and tamarillos. They showed us their yard and vegetable garden, and told us their story of acquiring this farm when they felt they didn't have enough to do in retirement............hmmmmm.
